The Easton Kiwanis Fun
Golf and Clambake was held with some soggy weather.
Well, it's the first time in 6 years that the 'sun didn't
shine' on our annual event. Wilbur Mack arrived early
for lunch--at 10:30AM. He wanted to make sure he was
first in the lunch food line. We also learned that
Wilbur, who is just a couple months short of 91, has just
become a great-grandparent. According to golf
director, Don Mengel there were 12 golfers. Bady
Catering again provided a great clambake for the 27 adults
and 4 children that were present for dinner. Prior to
the bake entertainment of the 'mystic kind' was presented by
"Odie" Odhner which the kids, both young and old enjoyed.
It was good to see 3 from Palmer Kiwanis including our old
friend and former club president, Ed McDevitt along with Bob
Moran and Jim Narlesky. Visiting from Easton Rotary
was Paul Braden. Our Div 17 Lt Gov Kathy Heller was
there with her husband Maurice and two of their
grandchildren. Other guests present were Jim
Cappellano, 2 from the YMCA, Watson's grandson and Bob
Moran's son along with Barbie Walters Smith and husband
Christopher and their two sons, our grandsons.
